flow of urban programs and activities. The installation presents a pair of ultra-wide 8K cinematic images on opposing walls, gently floating past a sequence of diverse urban typologies ranging from medieval buildings and green spaces, to industrial sites and corporate office parks. Bridges and tributary rivers connect the two sides of the river in a unified whole. digital; looping, variable program; 1400 x 200 cm&nbsp;A flat field of continuously evolving colour and pattern fills the space with a hypnotizing glow. Stepping out of the darkness into the field, the body gives shape to the light, extruding and grafting a flow of kinetic luminous patterns onto textile and skin. As clothing and wearable objects begin to integrate visual and haptic technologies, the body transforms into an expressive, fully programmable information surface. Transforming a high-speed sequence of images into an intense experience of light and colour. 40,000 photographs captured over 12 years flicker at the threshold of visual recognition. A thin film suspended over the image blurs and refracts the pictures while leaving the raw image stream narrowly visible along the edges. Vibrating with chromatic intensity and an arresting depth-effect, the eye and mind get pulled deeper into the image-machine. Produced by Maris Mezulis Studio. The enormous dome canopy over the museum filters the desert sun to project a mesmerizing, ever-changing pattern of light onto the floor and walls of the pavilions below. Realized years before the building was complete, the installation transports the viewer into a cinematic dream sequence that gently bends the constraints of physical reality. Beams of light appear to solidify as they sweep towards the foreground and physically emerge from the screen to slide across the floor, showering the viewer with patterns of light from overhead, while the soundscape expands the space beyond the frame edges. and durations The systematic documentation of Paris and its sprawling periphery from ground and air exposed a beautiful complexity stretching beyond the typical mental image of the city. The pictures captured over two months in early 2009 highlight both the delights and horrors of Parisian urbanism, opening views on its challenges and opportunities. Commissioned by Jean Nouvel in support of his proposal for “Le Grand Paris”, a large selection of the images were exhibited in his 13-screen mixed-media installation at the Cité de L'Architecture, and many more published in the accompanying 500-page catalog.
